The award of the presentation comes at an important point in the advancement of Artelo’s pipeline, following favorable clinical and nonclinical data reported across multiple programs this year. Artelo intends to use BIO-Europe to continue its business development outreach with interested potential partners and to open new conversations around both its clinical-stage and earlier-stage assets.

Artelo’s participation at BIO-Europe follows a series of clinical and nonclinical developments featuring its ART26.12 program, including:

FABP5 – Novel Therapeutic Target: ART26.12 is designed to inhibit fatty acid binding protein 5 ("FABP5"), an emerging therapeutic target that Artelo believes has potential applications in peripheral neuropathy, osteoarthritis and other pain-related conditions.
ART26.12 – Single Ascending Dose study: Phase 1 data in healthy volunteers showed a favorable safety and tolerability profile across all cohorts, with linear, dose-proportional pharmacokinetics. Separately reported human metabolite data demonstrated favorable drug metabolism characteristics.
ART26.12 – Preliminary Food Effect study: Results from healthy volunteers who received ART26.12 under fasted and under fed (low-fat and high-fat) conditions suggest the FABP5 inhibitor can be dosed effectively thereby potentially providing versatility in dosing regimens depending upon the indication.
ART26.12 – Peripheral Neuropathy: In five nonclinical studies, ART26.12 showed both the potential to treat painful neuropathies associated with diabetes or chemotherapy and to prevent its occurrence when dosed concurrently with two commonly used chemotherapies, paclitaxel and oxaliplatin, known to cause high incidences of chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).
ART26.12 – Osteoarthritis (OA): A nonclinical OA study demonstrated that oral administration of ART26.12 significantly reduced OA-associated pain over a 4-week period, demonstrating efficacy comparable to naproxen. ART26.12 produced distinct changes in endocannabinoids and other related bioactive lipids and proteins compared to naproxen, supporting a novel mechanism of action for ART26.12. Animals treated with ART26.12 exhibited significantly less stomach tissue damage, including non-glandular hyperkeratosis, compared to those receiving naproxen.
Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Artelo Biosciences, Andrew Yates, Ph.D., will deliver the Company’s presentation at BIO-Europe. Dr. Yates also plans to meet with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and to seek to establish relationships with prospective partners, particularly in the areas of pain and inflammation.

"BIO-Europe brings together many of the organizations that are actively searching for differentiated programs in the areas where we are generating data," said Dr. Yates. "While we are grateful to feature our clinical experience with the first selective FABP5 inhibitor to enter the clinic, we also expect to advance our business development outreach with interested potential partners during BIO-Europe, and to show the breadth of what we have built across our wider portfolio in pain, cancer cachexia, and obesity."

Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies interested in meeting with Dr. Yates and learning more about Artelo’s programs are encouraged to request a meeting through the BIO-Europe partnering portal, which is now open. Artelo looks forward to meeting with both existing and prospective partners in Cologne as the Company continues to evaluate partnering opportunities across its portfolio.

About ART26.12

ART26.12, Artelo’s lead Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5 (FABP5) inhibitor, is under development as a novel, peripherally acting, non-opioid, non-steroidal analgesic, initially for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Human studies with ART26.12 have demonstrated a favorable safety profile with no serious adverse events, as well as predictable, linear pharmacokinetics and dosing flexibility in both fed and fasted states. Fatty Acid Binding Proteins (FABPs) are a family of intracellular proteins that chaperone lipids important to normal cellular function. In addition to ART26.12, Artelo’s extensive library of small molecule inhibitors of FABPs has shown therapeutic promise for the treatment of certain cancers, neuropathic and nociceptive pain, psoriasis, and anxiety disorders.

AML affects approximately 20,000 people annually in the United States and remains one of the most challenging blood cancers to treat with a five-year survival rate of less than 30%. Menin inhibitors have emerged as an important breakthrough in AML treatment, targeting the protein-protein interaction between menin and KMT2A, a key driver of leukemic cell growth. However, despite first-generation menin inhibitors demonstrating promising clinical activity, they are limited by the rapid emergence of resistance mutations in the menin protein that reduce efficacy and lead to disease progression. Further, the efficacy of some first generation menin inhibitors may be limited by safety risks including QTc prolongation and poor pharmaceutical properties such as the potential for drug-drug interactions and requirement for high doses.

CHARM has used its proprietary AI platform DragonFoldTM to specifically design CHM-029 to address this issue by closely mimicking the binding of KMT2A to menin, enabling the differentiation and cell death of otherwise cancerous cells. CHM-029 has demonstrated potent activity against all publicly described resistance mutations, robust dose-dependent tumor regression in both wild-type and mutant pre-clinical models, and a favorable preclinical safety profile.

Gary D. Glick, Ph.D., Interim Chief Executive Officer of CHARM Therapeutics, said: "Initiation of this Phase I/II clinical trial represents a pivotal moment for CHARM and, most importantly, for patients with AML who urgently need more durable treatment options. We progressed the program rapidly with less than 24 months elapsed between the first synthesis of CHM-029 and the first patient dosed. We look forward to continuing to advance CHM-029 through clinical development and believe our next-generation approach has the potential to transform outcomes for patients living with this devastating disease."

Professor Paresh Vyas, Principal Investigator, said: "Despite advances in targeted therapies for AML, outcomes remain poor for many patients. Dosing the first patient in this trial using a novel menin inhibitor that has been designed using AI to avoid drug resistance marks significant progress in efforts to deliver deeper more durable responses for patients, and we look forward to evaluating CHM-029 in the clinic."

The Phase I/II clinical trial (NCT07751991) will evaluate the safety and efficacy of CHM-029 in patients with relapsed or refractory AML with an NPM1 mutation, KMT2A rearrangement, or NUP98 rearrangement.

Enrollment is complete for the Part C of Phase 2 trial, THIO-101, which evaluates ateganosine sequenced with the CPI cemiplimab. MAIA recently announced 90.5% interim disease control (DCR) for the combination therapy in the efficacy evaluable population who had at least one tumor scan after starting treatment. Ateganosine’s measures of efficacy are close to triple the reported outcome for standard-of-care treatment with chemotherapy.

THIO-104 is MAIA’s pivotal Phase 3 trial evaluating ateganosine in sequence with a CPI in third line (3L) NSCLC patients whose disease has progressed following chemotherapy and CPI treatment. MAIA announced the first patient dosed in December 2025, and enrollment and dosing continues to advance at a strong pace. To date, 65 patients have been enrolled. The trial is targeting 100 patients enrolled and dosed by year-end.

"Our Phase 2 THIO-101 trial is on track to be the first completed clinical study of a telomere-targeting agent in the field of cancer drug discovery and treatment," said Vlad Vitoc, M.D., Founder and CEO of MAIA. "Our strategic focus on third-line NSCLC addresses a critical treatment gap for patients who have progressed after immunotherapy and chemotherapy, with no established standard of care today. Clinical data to date supports ateganosine’s potential to define a new treatment category for this difficult-to-treat population.

"For THIO-104, we have reached 65% of our enrollment target of 100 patients by year-end 2026, and remain on track with our target to conduct an interim analysis in 2027," Dr. Vitoc added.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Fast Track designation for ateganosine for the treatment of NSCLC in July 2025. The designation allows for more frequent FDA communication, potential rolling review, and eligibility for Accelerated Approval and Priority Review. If approved, ateganosine will hold FDA New Chemical Entity (NCE) five-year marketing exclusivity. An NCE is a small molecule drug with a novel active ingredient that has not been previously approved or marketed.

About Ateganosine

Ateganosine (THIO, 6-thio-dG or 6-thio-2’-deoxyguanosine) is a first-in-class investigational telomere-targeting agent currently in clinical development to evaluate its activity in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Telomeres, along with the enzyme telomerase, play a fundamental role in the survival of cancer cells and their resistance to current therapies. The modified nucleotide 6-thio-2’-deoxyguanosine induces telomerase-dependent telomeric DNA modification, DNA damage responses, and selective cancer cell death. Ateganosine-damaged telomeric fragments accumulate in cytosolic micronuclei and activates both innate (cGAS/STING) and adaptive (T-cell) immune responses. The sequential treatment of ateganosine followed by PD-(L)1 inhibitors resulted in profound and persistent tumor regression in advanced, in vivo cancer models by induction of cancer type–specific immune memory. Ateganosine is presently developed as a second or later line of treatment for NSCLC for patients that have progressed beyond the standard-of-care regimen of existing checkpoint inhibitors.

About THIO-101 Phase 2 Clinical Trial

THIO-101 is a multicenter, open-label, dose finding Phase 2 clinical trial. It is the first trial designed to evaluate ateganosine’s anti-tumor activity when followed by PD-(L)1 inhibition. The trial is testing the hypothesis that low doses of ateganosine administered prior to cemiplimab (Libtayo) will enhance and prolong immune response in patients with advanced NSCLC who previously did not respond or developed resistance and progressed after first-line treatment regimen containing another checkpoint inhibitor. The trial design has two primary objectives: (1) to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ateganosine administered as an anticancer compound and a priming immune activator (2) to assess the clinical efficacy of ateganosine using Overall Response Rate (ORR) as the primary clinical endpoint. The expansion of the study will assess overall response rates (ORR) in advanced NSCLC patients receiving third line (3L) therapy who were resistant to previous checkpoint inhibitor treatments (CPI) and chemotherapy. Treatment with ateganosine followed by cemiplimab (Libtayo) has shown an acceptable safety profile to date in a heavily pre-treated population. For more information on this Phase II trial, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov using the identifier NCT05208944.

About THIO-104 Phase 3 Clinical Trial

THIO-104 is a multicenter, open-label, randomized Phase 3 clinical trial, designed to evaluate ateganosine’s telomere-targeting anti-tumor activity when followed by PD-(L)1 inhibition in patients with advanced third-line NSCLC who previously did not respond or developed resistance to treatment regimens containing checkpoint inhibitor and/or chemotherapy and have progressed. The trial has two primary objectives: (1) to assess the clinical efficacy of ateganosine compared to investigator’s choice of chemotherapy, using median Overall Survival (OS) as the primary clinical endpoint (2) to evaluate the safety and tolerability of ateganosine in sequential combination with a checkpoint inhibitor. For more information on this Phase 3 trial, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov using the identifier NCT06908304.
