"Invikafusp alfa is designed for antigen-rich tumors. ADCs like TRODELVY help create that state by releasing tumor antigens and inflaming the tumor microenvironment, priming less immunogenic tumors for T-cell-mediated responses," said Kevin Chin, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Marengo Therapeutics. "STARt-002 is the first clinical study to test this hypothesis by pairing a selective T-cell agonist with an ADC, and this combination could extend invikafusp alfa’s reach beyond tumors that are antigen-rich on their own. Triple-negative and HRpositive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer are two settings where patients still have limited options after standard therapies. We look forward to presenting interim results from both cohorts at SITC (Free SITC Whitepaper)."

STARt-002 is the company’s Phase 1b/2 trial evaluating invikafusp alfa in combination with TRODELVY (sacituzumab govitecan-hziy) in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The Phase 2 portion is evaluating two distinct patient populations: metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and HR-positive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. Following completion of the safety lead-in, both expansion cohorts are enrolling at the recommended Phase 2 dose at select cancer centers across North America. The SITC (Free SITC Whitepaper) presentation will feature interim results from both expansion cohorts, and Marengo expects to report additional data in 2027.

The STARt-002 combination strategy reflects invikafusp alfa’s long-term potential as an immuno-oncology backbone and builds on STARt-001, a Phase 1/2 trial evaluating invikafusp alfa monotherapy in patients with PD-1-resistant, biomarker-enriched solid tumors, including TNBC. Updated STARt-001 results will be presented during an oral presentation at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) (Free ESMO Whitepaper) 2026 Congress, taking place October 23–27 in Madrid, Spain.

Evaxion will present new immune data for personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01 at the SITC 2026 Annual Meeting

On October 2, 2026 Evaxion A/S (NASDAQ: EVAX) ("Evaxion"), a clinical-stage TechBio company developing novel immunotherapies with its pioneering AI-Immunology platform, reported it will present new immune data for AI-designed personalized cancer vaccine EVX-01 at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) (Free SITC Whitepaper) 2026 Annual Meeting, taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, November 4-8, 2026.

The new data will reflect the systemic immunomodulatory effects of EVX-01 plus pembrolizumab beyond vaccine-specific T-cell responses using comprehensive immune profiling. It will be presented both in an oral and poster presentation at the SITC (Free SITC Whitepaper) meeting.

The new immune data stems from the phase 2 trial investigating EVX-01 in combination with MSD’s (Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA) anti-PD-1 therapy, KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) in patients with advanced melanoma. Each patient enrolled in the trial received a unique vaccine designed and manufactured based on their individual biology. KEYTRUDA is a registered trademark of Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA.

The complete three-year clinical data from the phase 2 trial will be presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) (Free ESMO Whitepaper) 2026 congress on October 24, 2026. Two-year data demonstrated an Objective Response Rate (ORR) of 75% as 12 out of 16 patients had objective clinical responses, with four patients obtaining a complete response. Additionally, a durable clinical benefit was observed as 92% of patients were still responding at two years follow-up and no relapses were observed.

In the third year, patients received EVX-01 as stand-alone therapy, meaning the data will offer insight into the vaccine’s effect also when not administered in combination with anti-PD-1 therapy. Further, the data may also provide additional insights into potentially enhanced treatment effects and durability of the EVX-01-induced immune response.

About EVX-01
EVX-01 is a personalized peptide-based cancer vaccine intended for first-line treatment of multiple advanced solid cancer tumors. It is currently being evaluated as a treatment of advanced melanoma and is Evaxion’s lead clinical asset.

Designed with our AI-Immunology platform, EVX-01 is tailored to target the unique tumor profile and immune characteristics of each patient. It engages the patient’s immune system to fight off cancer by mounting a targeted response against tumor-specific neoantigens.

In the phase 2 trial in patients with advanced melanoma (skin cancer), EVX-01 has demonstrated an Objective Response Rate (ORR) of 75% as 12 out of 16 patients had objective clinical responses, with four patients obtaining a complete response. 86% of the EVX-01 neoantigen targets triggered a tumor-specific immune response in the patients.

About Imneskibart
Imneskibart (AU-007) is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody designed by leveraging artificial intelligence that is highly selective to the CD25-binding portion of IL-2. With a mechanism of action unlike any other IL-2 therapeutic in development, imneskibart redirects IL-2 to reinforce anti-tumor immune effects. This is achieved by preventing IL-2, either exogenous or secreted by effector T cells, from binding to trimeric receptors on regulatory T cells while still allowing IL-2 to bind and expand effector T cells and NK cells. This prevents the negative feedback loop caused by other IL-2-based treatments and biases the immune system toward activation over suppression. Imneskibart also prevents IL-2 from binding to CD25-containing receptors on eosinophils, as well as vasculature and pulmonary endothelium, which may significantly reduce the vascular leak syndrome and pulmonary edema associated with high-dose IL-2 therapy.
